A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition after a crash with a semi tractor trailer on May 21, 2016. The accident happened on northbound I-275 at 10:30 a.m.
A 57-year-old man was driving a GMC Sierra truck when a FedEx semi tractor trailer began to merge onto the highway. The semi ran into the passenger truck and trapped it against the guardrail. The Sierra left the road, went into the ditch, and rolled over two times. The driver allegedly did not see the other vehicle before the crash.
The girl was ejected from the truck and was taken to the hospital. All of the passengers in the GMC Sierra were taken to the hospital. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash. The accident is under investigation by the local traffic safety unit.

It is not clear if the truck driver was distracted at the time of the crash, but we want to take this opportunity to remind drivers to watch the road and concentrate. Even changing the channel on the radio can cause an accident.
