At least 200 people have been sickened in a norovirus food poisoning outbreak in Holland, Michigan linked to Margarita’s Restaurant, located at 495 West 17th Street in Holland. The outbreak first came to light when dozens of people reported gastrointestinal illness (diarrhea and vomiting) after eating at the restaurant. Health officials at the Ottawa County Health Department quickly linked the illnesses to Margarita’s.
Victims of this outbreak have the right to seek compensation for injuries related to their case of norovirus. Compensation can include medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering and other damages. Restaurants have insurance to cover food poisoning outbreaks.
